FAQs
Our Diamonds
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. Same crystal structure, same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), same brilliance. The primary difference lies in their origin and the age of the carbon atoms. Only advanced laboratory equipment can distinguish between the two.
Two methods. In CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition), a diamond seed is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich gas. At extreme temperatures the gas becomes plasma, and carbon particles settle on the seed, growing the diamond layer by layer. In HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature), a diamond seed is placed in carbon and subjected to intense heat and pressure, replicating the conditions under which diamonds form in nature.
Identical. Lab-grown diamonds score a perfect 10 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, the same as mined diamonds. Highly resistant to scratching and wear. Suitable for everyday pieces, including engagement rings, earrings, and bracelets.
Yes. Like mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds can have inclusions caused by fluctuations in temperature, pressure, or impurities during the growth process. IRALIS uses only diamonds graded VS (very slightly included) or VVS (very very slightly included). Any inclusions are visible only under 10x magnification.
By the 4Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight. The same criteria used for mined diamonds. IGI (International Gemological Institute) is the leading independent global standard for lab-grown diamond certification, grading on the full traditional 4Cs. GIA certified diamonds are available on request. All IRALIS diamonds of 1 carat/stone or larger carry an IGI certificate. An IGI or GIA report is the universal language of trust in the gemological world, ensuring your diamond's quality and authenticity.
Lab-grown diamonds are produced without the environmental impact of mining and without the ethical concerns sometimes associated with mined diamonds, including labor practices, community displacement, and conflict sourcing.
Generally speaking, Lab-Grown diamonds are more budget-friendly than natural diamonds of comparable quality and size. These cost savings stem from their shorter production time, and the controlled manufacturing process involved. However, prices can fluctuate based on factors such as production process, country of origin, energy cost, quality, size, color, and market demand.
Every IRALIS diamond is hand-selected by a trained gemologist from the top 1% of stones, set in recycled gold, and handcrafted to order in Europe. Pieces start from CHF 990.
Our Jewelry
All diamonds used in IRALIS jewelry are colorless (DEF), which is the highest grade within the color spectrum. This means that a trained gemologist might detect slight traces of color under laboratory conditions, but in a jewelry setting, even experts will see no noticeable color.
We exclusively use diamonds with at least VS or VVS clarity, meaning "very slightly included" or "very very slightly included." Any inclusions in these diamonds are only visible under 10x magnification and cannot be seen without it.
A trained gemologist hand-selects every diamond, rejecting stones that don't meet visual performance standards regardless of certificate grade. Only the top 1% are chosen.
All diamonds of 1 carat or larger are IGI-certified, graded on the full traditional 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat weight). GIA certification is available on request. For diamonds smaller than 1 carat, supplier guarantees confirm DEF color and VS clarity minimum.
Yes. IRALIS uses exclusively lab-grown diamonds and lab-grown gemstones across all collections.
14k & 18k recycled gold across all collections. Platinum is available for bridal and engagement pieces. Higher gold concentrations can be too soft for everyday wear, making 14k and 18k the ideal balance of durability and purity for fine jewelry.
Milena and her team learn about the person, the meaning, and the milestone that is being honored. Every consultation begins with a conversation — not just about diamonds or designs, but about the moment you are marking and the person it is for. Milena and her team take the time to truly understand the meaning behind the piece before anything else.
From there, we discuss your timeline, your budget, your style preferences, and ring/bracelet sizing. After the meeting, we share a tailored offer for your bespoke piece via email.
Once you decide to move forward, a 50% deposit confirms your order and allows us to begin sourcing your stone. Our gemologist then hand-selects diamond options from the top 1% of lab-grown stones and presents them to Milena. Depending on the complexity of your design, a CAD (computer-aided design) is created so you can see your piece take shape before it is made.
Throughout the crafting process, every IRALIS creation passes through three rigorous quality controls, checking every detail at each stage before the next begins. Once the piece is complete, Milena personally conducts a final quality control herself. The remaining balance is due before the final handover. Only when every detail meets her standard does your piece leave our hands and reach yours.
Most pieces are made to order. Production takes 2-10 weeks depending on the complexity of the design. We appreciate your patience as we craft something extraordinary for you. Ready-to-ship items are dispatched within 5-7 business days.
Every piece is handcrafted by goldsmiths in Italy, Belgium, or Switzerland. Designed in Zurich.
Twint, Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard. Flexible payment plans are available through Twint BNPL (up to CHF 1'000), HeyLight (up to CHF 5'000, 25% down, 12 monthly installments), and Klarna Flexible Payments.
